Pune, 10th May, 2023: City FC Pune and Sunny Days scored contrasting wins to move on in the draw of the inaugural Aspire Cup 2023 (Second and Third Division Football Tournament), at the Dr. Hedgewar ground, Pimpri, here on Wednesday.
The tournament is being held under the aegis of Poona District Football Association (PDFA) and organised by Aspire India powered by Bank of Maharashtra.
In a mid-day clash, City F.C Pune proved to be a better unit and walked out 2-0 winners against Khadki Blues.
The win was architected by a brace of goals by striker Satvik Nayak (14th & 15th minutes). His first was after a well timed run to beat the offside trap and slot home. A minute later Satvik was again in the clear for an effortless placement to settle the issue.
Earlier, Sunny Days registered a 4-3 tiebreaker win over  Keshav Madhav Pratishtan (KMP) XI after playing out a 0-0 draw at full time.
Sunny Days did it all but failed to score in regulation time as against KMP XI who played defenders most of the time.
In the ensuing tie-breaker, Sunny Days had Vishal Benvansh, Sunder Velu, Shubham Tembhurne and Sandeep Khute score, while KMP XI could convert two through Advait Kalbhor and Abhishekh Padhya.
